Launched as ANS-C00 on May 30, 2017 and refreshed to ANS-C01 after a March–April 2022 beta, the AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty became generally available on July 12, 2022 (retiring ANS-C00 on July 11, 2022) and remains active with no announced retirement as of April 9, 2026.

AWS introduced the Advanced Networking – Specialty certification on May 30, 2017 as one of its first Specialty credentials under exam code ANS‑C00, announced in the AWS ‘What’s New’ update. AWS announced an updated version (ANS‑C01) with a public beta running through April 11, 2022, then opened registration for the updated exam with the first test date on July 12, 2022 and the prior version available until July 11, 2022; as of April 9, 2026, the ANS‑C01 exam remains available on the official certification site and in the AWS Documentation with no retirement notice.
