Exam history

CompTIA SecAI+ V1 (CY0-001) launched on February 17, 2026 as the first Expansion Series AI security certification, complementing existing CompTIA cybersecurity credentials with no announced retirement date beyond an estimated three-year lifecycle.

Last reviewed: 2026-04-10

CompTIA officially launched SecAI+ V1 (exam series code CY0-001) on February 17, 2026, positioning it as an AI‑security certification that validates skills to secure AI systems and apply AI within cybersecurity operations. It is identified by CompTIA as the first certification in its Expansion Series, created in response to emerging AI‑driven threats and developed with broad industry input. CompTIA also notes that SecAI+ complements its existing cybersecurity pathway (e.g., Security+, CySA+, PenTest+) rather than replacing another exam. ([comptia.org](https://www.comptia.org/en-us/certifications/secai/))

Version history: as of April 10, 2026, only V1 is available; CompTIA lists the retirement as estimated three years after launch and has not announced a fixed retirement or transition date. At introduction, CompTIA released supporting learning products for SecAI+—including CertMaster Study, CertMaster Labs and CertMaster Perform—and the certification was briefly available for pre‑order ahead of launch with draft exam objectives posted.
